Patient/Family Kitchens & Lounge

Patient Kitchens

The Leukemia/BMT Inpatient Unit has 2 small kitchens for patient use. There is a refrigerator and a separate freezer for patients to store their food. Please label all your food with your name and room/bed number. Space is limited, so please keep amounts moderate.

The kitchens also has a microwave, toaster, kettle, some dishes and a ice/water machine. Please clean up after yourself if you or your family member is heating up or making food. The kitchens are shared by other patients on the unit.

Family & Patient Lounge

The Lounge

A Family and Patient Lounge is located just outside of the T15 entrance. This room has been generously refurbished by the Believe Foundation with a television and comfortable furnishings complete with fireplace. This room can be used for family meetings, as well as a waiting and respite area for all visitors. Please note that patients who are immunocompromised cannot access the Family & Patient Lounge.

The T15 Education Room

T15 Lounge PhotoFor families who wish a larger space for private meetings and/or family gatherings, the  T15  Education Room (Room 15600) has been generously renovated by the Believe Foundation. The T15 Education Room is a shared space between the health care team and families.

Members of the health care team (doctors, nurses, and allied health) utilize this space for conferences, education sessions and meetings.

Families who wish a larger space for private meetings and/or family gatherings can book the education room by signing in on the calendar posted outside the room. Families can also book the room for access to the internet, movie nights or respite.

Based on availability (noted on the Education Room door), access to the T15 Education Room is gained by use of a swipe card. The swipe card can be signed out at the T15A nursing station.
